Horizon Lines operates a terminal facility at 1601 Sand Island Parkway in Honolulu, and is the only carrier with dedicated on-site customer service agents in Honolulu with extensive knowledge of island trade.
Horizon Lines offers three weekly fixed-day direct sailings to Honolulu with continuing service to the five Neighbor Islands.
• The Pacific Northwest Express (PEX) consists of two dedicated vessels on a direct, round-trip service between Tacoma, Oakland and Honolulu.
• The California-Hawaii Express (CHX) Service consists of two dedicated vessels on a direct, round-trip service between Los Angeles and Honolulu. End-of-week departure from Los Angeles provides shippers full week of loading to maximize utilization and improve efficiency.
• The Midweek Express (MWX) Service offers a second weekly fixed-day direct sailing from Los Angeles to Honolulu.
Neighbor Island barge service is provided on a through bill of lading on a regularly scheduled basis to/from Honolulu and:
• Hilo and Kawaihae, Hawaii
• Kaunakakai, Molokai
• Kahului, Maui
• Nawiliwili, Kauai
• Kaumalapau, Lanai
Horizon Lines continues to invest in Hawaii, including a multi-million dollar terminal project in Honolulu to greatly improve terminal productivity and cargo availability.
Horizon Lines also has invested in new containers for the Hawaii trade, including dry boxes and refrigerated containers with the most advanced features for safe and reliable perishables shipping. New flat-racks have arrived to improve service for equipment and construction materials shippers.
