Alaska Announcement : Operations : 2013 Independence Day Holiday 5.10.13
For your planning purposes, please take note of the following schedule for the 4th of July holiday week: Since the 4th of July falls on Thursday this year, there will be no impact to our Alaska sailing out of Tacoma on Wednesday, 7/3. The KO882N will be sailing from Tacoma on Wednesday, 7/3, at the regular time; the usual cutoffs will apply.
Alaska Announcement : Operations : Port Facility Memorial Day Schedule 5.9.13
The Horizon Lines port facilities will observe the Memorial Day holiday with hours of operations as follows: Tacoma: Gate, offices, and terminal (trucking, yard, and dock) will be closed. Anchorage: Gate will be open from 0700 to 1700. Offices and terminal will be closed. Kodiak: Open for vessel operations only. Dutch Harbor: Gate and terminal will be closed. Horizon Lines Sales offices and Customer Service will be also closed on Monday, May 27, 2013.

Due to unusually lingering cold temperatures in Alaska, Horizon Lines has chosen to extend Keep From Freezing (KFF) season through the week of 4/29/13. Therefore, please be advised the final sailings for the 2013 KFF season will be the AZ888N departing from Tacoma on Friday, 5/3/13 (northbound), and the KO876S departing Anchorage on Sunday, 5/5/13 (southbound).

All State maintained gravel roads within the Kodiak Island area; Kenai Peninsula area south of Portage Glacier highway; in Anchorage, Eagle River, and Girdwood; in the Matanuska-Susitna area (south of the Parks Highway MP 163 / south of Glenn Highway MP 55 (Moose Creek and north of the Eklutna Interchange) = 50%.

Horizon Lines of Alaska has filed today with the Surface Transportation Board a general rate increase of 4% for freight moving to and from Kodiak, Alaska and Dutch Harbor, Alaska. This increase applies to Horizon Lines’ Alaska Tariffs 313, 314, 318 and 453 and will be effective on January 13, 2013. Also effective January 13, Horizon Lines’ Dutch Harbor Marine Assessment Charge will increase to $81.50 per container.
