PUERTO RICO SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
Potential Weather Event to Affect Puerto Rico and the Caribbean
Dear Valued Customer:
A vigorous tropical wave approximately 250 miles east of Martinique continues to show signs of organization. A reconnaissance aircraft observed winds to be near tropical storm force. There is a high likelihood that this wave will develop into a tropical cyclone within the next 48 hours.
The National Hurricane Center website advises close monitoring of interests within the Caribbean. Tropical Storm warnings could be issued on very short notice.
Horizon Lines would like to encourage customers to furnish their northbound shipments as early as possible this week so all options to navigate around the storm can be explored. Customers with freight arriving on the island are also encouraged to pick up their cargo in an effort to mitigate delays and port congestion.
At this time, we do not anticipate any vessel delays as a result of this storm. We will continue to monitor this storm’s progress and update our customer base with any information that could affect our operations as a result of this storm.
If you have any questions, please contact your Horizon Lines Sales Representative
or Customer Service at 1-877-678-7447.
Thank you for choosing Horizon Lines. Always There. Always Delivering.®
