Hurricane Earl and Tropical Storm Fiona – Update 7
Dear Valued Customer:
Effects from Hurricane Earl are being felt in Puerto Rico as it passes north of the island. The United States Coast Guard has maintained readiness condition “Zulu”, and the port of San Juan remains closed to all vessel traffic. At this time, we anticipate the port reopening some time tomorrow morning.
Hurricane Earl is approximately 110 miles Northeast of San Juan, PR as of 5PM today. Earl is a Category 4 hurricane with maximum wind speeds of 135MPH. Hurricane Earl is moving West-Northwest at approximately 15MPH.
Separately, Tropical Storm Fiona has formed as the sixth named storm of the 2010 Hurricane season. Fiona is currently located about 890 miles east of the Leeward Islands. Maximum sustained winds have reached 40MPH and the storm is racing west at 24MPH.
