Horizon Lines Presented Logistics Excellence Award 2007 by U.S. Army and Air Force Exchange Service
Horizon Lines, Inc. (NYSE:HRZ) was presented the Logistics Excellence Award 2007 by the U.S. Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES Logistics) at the group’s First Annual Logistics Forum held at AAFES headquarters in Dallas, TX on July 17th. AAFES is a joint military activity providing merchandise and services to active duty, guard and reserve members, military retirees and their families. Edward R. Berti, Director of Government and Military Affairs for Horizon Lines accepted the award on the company’s behalf.
The award was presented by Major General Paul W. Essex USAF, AAFES Commander and Dale Bryan, Senior Vice President of AAFES Logistics who remarked, “In 2006, Horizon Lines processed over 4,000 bookings and shipped over 6,800 containers with an impressive 99.6% on time service performance. Horizon's commitment to excellence and vision for service improvement paves the way for others to follow."
